This book is extremely helpful as a companion to identifying old photographs.I recently inherited a sizeable collection of family photos, many of which go back to the late 19th century. Most were unidentified. This book is an enormous help in rounding out our best guesses of who the person is, who the other people are (might be), what their age(s) might be, and when the picture was taken (styles of clothing and hairstyles). Of course, grandma may not have changed her hairstyle over the years, but the younger folks were definitely with the styles of their time.
This book definitely belongs in any family historian's arsenal. For the rest of you out there, please identify the people in your photos now to save your descendants hours of puzzle-solving not-fun. You can never anticipate who might be interested long into the future.
